About NIACL AO 2019-20

The New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL), based in Mumbai, Maharashtra is a public sector general insurance company of India. "It is the largest general insurance company of India on the basis of gross premium collection inclusive of foreign operations”.

The NIACL AO is a national level exam that is conducted annually to recruit candidates for the post of Administrative Officer in various offices of New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL).

NIACL AO 2019-20 Exam Pattern

The NIACL AO Recruitment will be having 3 Phases - Phase 1 will be the Prelims Exam (Objective Test), Phase 2 will Main Exam (Objective and Descriptive Test) and Phase 3 would be Interview

The first stage is the preliminary exam consisting of 3 sections for a total of 100 marks.

Candidates have to qualify in each test/section by securing passing marks to be decided by the Company.

NIACL AO 2019-20 Mains Exam

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer.

Descriptive Test

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing-10 marks & Essay-20 marks). The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through online mode.

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section of the objective test separately for shortlisting for the Descriptive test evaluation/Interview. Descriptive answer script would be evaluated only in respect of those candidates who qualify the objective test.

Interview

Candidates who have been shortlisted at the end of Mains will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Company. The interview will be conducted at select centres. The weightage (ratio) of Online Examination and Interview will be 80:20 respectively

Final selection would be based on consolidated marks of main examination (objective test) & Interview

NIACL AO 2019-20 Eligibility Criteria

Age Criteria

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 30 years

Both Min. and Max. Age would be calculated as on 01.12.2019, i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd Dec-1990 and not later than 1st Dec-1999 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications

  • Generalists – A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a graduate/post-graduate in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examinations for General candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
  • Company Secretary – ACS/FCS from ICSI and Graduation/Post-graduation in any discipline with min 60%
  • LegalGraduate/Post-graduate in Law with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD)
  • Finance & Accounts – Chartered Accountant (ICAI) and Graduation/Post-graduation in any discipline with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) Or Cost and Management Accountant (The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, earlier known as ICWAI) and Graduation/Post-graduation in any discipline with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) Or MBA Finance/PGDM FINANCE* with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) Or M.COM with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD)

NIACL AO 2019-20 Application Process

Candidates can apply online for the exam soon after the exam date announced and no other mode of application will be accepted.

Prerequisites for Applying Online

Before applying online, candidates should,

  • (i) scan their : photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm), signature (with black ink), left thumb impression (on white paper with black or blue ink) and a hand written declaration (on a white paper with black ink) (text given below) ensuring that all these scanned documents adhere to the required specifications as given ahead in the section.
  • Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
  • The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged. (If a candidate is not having left thumb, he/she may use his/ her right thumb for applying.)
  • The text for the handwritten declaration is as follows – “I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
  • Keep the necessary details/documents ready to make Online Payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges
  • Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no., which should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process. All official communication will be sent to the registered e-mail id of the candidate. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share with/mention e-mail ID to/of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID and mobile no. before applying on-line and must maintain that email account and mobile number.

Application Fees/ Intimation Charges

  • Rs. 600 /- for all others.

Steps to Apply for NIACL AO Exam Online

  • Step1: Candidates to go to the Recruitment Section of Company’s website http://newindia.co.in and click on the option "APPLY ONLINE" which will open a new screen.
  • Step 2. To register application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id.
  • Step 3: You would be required to enter your basic information in the online application form.
  • Step 4: Upload your photograph and signature as per the specifications.
  • Step 5: Post that a provisional registration number and password will be displayed on the screen.
  • Step 6. Note that down. You will also receive an Email & SMS regarding the same.

Candidates are advised to register as per above steps and carefully fill in the online application themselves as no change in any of the data filled in the online application is possible/ entertained after submission of the application. Candidates should refer to the Official notification for steps to fill the online application form.

NIACL AO Admit Card

NIACL AO Admit card would be released on the official NIACL website about 10 to 12 days before the NIACL AO Preliminary Exam.

Candidates will need their registration number and roll number to download their NIACL AO Admit card 2019-20.
