About SEBI Grade A Recruitment Exam 2019

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), a regulator of stock markets in India, invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Grade “A” Officer (Assistant Manager) for General Stream, Legal Stream, Information Technology Stream, and Engineering Stream (Civil & Electrical).

SEBI 2019 prelims Exam comprises of 5 sections. The details of the sections and the number of questions asked in each of the sections are provided in the table below

SEBI 2019 Mains Exam

The SEBI mains Exam would be conducted online consisting of three papers of a total of 300 marks. The papers shall be as follows:

SEBI 2019 Interview

A candidate may opt for interview either in Hindi or English. Weightage of marks obtained in Phase II will be 85%, while marks obtained in interview shall be given a weight of 15%.

SEBI 2019 Notification

The official notification for the SEBI 2019 exam is released in the second half of the year. The recruitment process is for the selection of candidates for the post of Assistant Manager also known as Grade 'A' Officer post in the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

The selection process is a 3-tier process. It consists of Phase-I and Phase-II exams, which are conducted to shortlist candidates for a personal interview. Candidates must clear each phase of the exam to get shortlisted and progress to the next stage.

Prerequisites for Applying Online

Before applying online, candidates should,

  • scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm) and signature adheres to the required specifications as given in Annexure III to this Advertisement.
  • Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
  • keep the necessary details/documents ready to make Online Payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges.

Steps to Apply for SEBI Exam Online

  • Step 1: Go to SEBI’s website https://www.sebi.gov.in
  • Step 2: Click on ‘SEBI Recruitment of Officers in Grade A – Online Registration (Check Careers section) link on the home-page
  • Step 3: Click on the ‘Online Registration Link’
  • Step 4: Click on the link for new registration – Click here for New Registration.
  • Step 5: Enter your name, contact details, and Email ID to register. A registration number and password will be displayed on the screen. These details will also be shared through SMS and Email provided by the candidate.
  • Step 6: Log-in using the registration number and password to complete the application form.
  • Step 7: Fill in all the details carefully and check them before hitting the “FINAL SUBMIT” button.
  • Step 8: Upload the scanned images of Photograph and Signature as per the specification mentioned in the official notification.
  • Step 9: Proceed to the “Payment” option. Application fee can be paid through internet banking/debit cards/credit cards/mobile wallets.
  • Step 10: Once the application process is complete, take a printout of the confirmation page/completed application form.

Important Note: Do not send system generated print out of filled-in application form to SEBI’s office.

SEBI Admit Card

Candidates will have to visit the official website for downloading call letters for SEBI 2019 online examination. Intimation for downloading call letter will also be sent through email/SMS. The candidate is required to use (i) Registration Number/Roll Number, (ii) Password/Date of Birth for downloading the call letter.
